Sewing Is My Passion

My name is Shan, a lifelong serial entrepreneur. After working in the food industry for decades, it was time to change my career and pursue my passion, sewing.

Growing up, my mom was a seamstress, and as a little girl, I always loved helping her. When I had my children, I picked up sewing again to make odds and ends for our family or repair a torn trouser.

After my boys left the house, I fell out of the habit of sewing for a few years. But recently, with the arrival of my first grandchild, I fell in love with making crib sets for her. 

Naturally, I decided to start making and selling custom baby bedding for new parents in our community. Finally, with my sons' help and support from my wonderful husband, I started Rising Star to help more parents welcome their new additions to a warm cozy home.
